The Art of Layering: How to Mix and Match Our Home Textiles for Summer

Summer is around the corner! Just as you start switching your wardrobe for the summer season, renewing your home decor for summer can also help create a fresh and vibrant atmosphere. Mixing and matching home decor in an eclectic style can be a fun and creative way to express your personal taste.

Our designer would like to share three great ways to infuse a summery feel into your living space.

Creating a Seasonal Mood Flow

Each season evokes different moods and emotions. Switching your home decor with the changing seasons helps to create a sense of freshness. It prevents your living space feeling stagnant and monotonous, by providing a new and exciting environment to enjoy.

With the arrival of Spring, we notice a lightness in ourselves, which is reflected in the materials we choose to wear and use. We believe that the materials you use in your home are as important as the clothing you wear. So why not find a unifying element that ties together your personal taste with your living space. It can be a particular color, a pattern, or a material which will help create a sense of harmony between diverse styles.

In hot weather, lightweight and breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, or silk allow better airflow and help keep you cool. Silk is one of our signature materials and we offer it a range of categories from clothing to home decor. Despite the common association of silk with special occasions, we encourage our customers to use it in everyday life.

 Reflecting Nature

Nature is always our greatest inspiration when we are designing our new collections. As well as its healing energy, reflecting nature in your life also brings a sense of wellness. We embrace the beauty of nature by incorporating natural elements in our collections either with color palettes, prints or materials. An eclectic style would allow for experimentation with colors and patterns. You could for example express your personality by combining vibrant hues with muted tones or mixing patterns such as stripes, florals, and geometrics.

Just as nature inspired material and designs added to your home decor can uplift your everyday mood, so too, articles made from natural materials; woven baskets, rattan furniture, jute rugs and wooden accessories can enrich the sense of nature in your living space.

We also love to make the most of the summer season by creating inviting outdoor-inspired spaces to the indoors. Why not set up an exciting reading nook by a sunny window with comfortable seating, tasteful cushions, and a small side table for your books and beverages.

Embracing Practicality

Practical designs are a must for us. With each new product we spend a lot of time testing its use. Our designer believes that a smart product needs to serve both the season and the customer while offering complete originality. Switching to lighter fabrics and breathable materials during the summer can help keep your home cool and comfortable. Even though summer is warm, there may still be times when you encounter cooler evenings or areas with strong air conditioning, so we would like to draw your attention to our LifeWear range. We are presently offering our kimonos with a mid-length sleeve option and in multi lengths, perfect for the season.

Another tip for enhancing your living environment is to purchase products that are timeless. Blending vintage pieces with contemporary ones, or mixing rustic elements with sleek, modern designs will help you find an eclectic look that you can use during longer periods. We wish you well creating a personally layered summer experience for your home.
